Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a fully remote role supporting automotive component development. The ideal candidate will design, analyze, and optimize mechanical parts and assemblies to meet OEM requirements, while ensuring manufacturability and reliability.

The position requires 7+ years in automotive mechanical design, expert CAD (CATIA/SolidWorks) and simulation (ANSYS/Abaqus). You will collaborate with global teams and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in automotive mechanical design.
• Experience with Tier 1 suppliers preferred.
• Strong CAD and simulation proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and development of automotive components and sub-systems per OEM specs.
• Use CATIA or SolidWorks for complex part design and drafting.
• Perform FEA and durability/mold flow analyses to validate designs.
• Collaborate with remote cross-functional teams to ensure successful launches.
• Create BOMs and technical documentation throughout the lifecycle.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide design guidance.
