Job summary

Cherry Bekaert's Transaction Tax Services practice seeks a Senior Manager to lead tax due diligence and structuring engagements for private equity sponsors, family offices and strategic acquirers across the middle market. This remote, nationally distributed role emphasizes leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will guide complex merger and acquisition projects, advise on planning opportunities, monitor changes in tax legislation, and contribute to business development

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7+ years in transaction tax or related environment with leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of transaction tax laws, regulations and planning
• Experience managing complex client engagements with multiple priorities
• Strong analytical, decision‑making and project management skills
• Advanced communication skills to advise clients and collaborate with stakeholders
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and tax software applications

Responsibilities

• Lead complex transaction tax engagements, including mergers, acquisitions, restructurings and other significant corporate transactions
• Advise clients on transaction tax implications, planning opportunities and strategies that support successful business outcomes
• Develop and implement strategic tax planning initiatives that help optimize client results across complex transactions
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by building strong relationships and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver comprehensive tax solutions
• Lead, coach and mentor tax professionals, supporting their development and strengthening the practice’s future leadership bench
• Monitor and communicate changes in tax legislation and explain how those changes may impact clients and transaction planning
• Support practice growth by identifying business development opportunities and contributing to proposal efforts
