Job summary

Cherry Bekaert LLP seeks an experienced M&A Tax Partner to lead and grow our Transaction Advisory Services practice in a high-visibility role. You will advise private equity groups, strategic buyers, and banks while overseeing tax due diligence, structuring, and cross-border planning.

You will mentor a team, manage the practice P&L, and drive business development to expand client relationships. A CPA/JD and 15+ years tax experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required.
• Master’s in Taxation (MST) or LLM in Taxation is highly preferred.
• Active CPA license or JD required.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle of M&A tax engagements, including buy-side and sell-side due diligence and tax structuring.
• Design tax-efficient structures for mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs, and reorganizations.
• Oversee post-close tax integration, including Section 382 analysis and E&P studies.
• Market and develop new engagements with PE firms, investment banks and C-level executives.
