Job summary

Coinbase, a remote-first company with quarterly in-person surges, is seeking a Senior Manager, Security Audit to lead the Internal Audit team’s global coverage of information security, cybersecurity, and infrastructure/app security.

You will own the security audit portfolio, partner with security teams, manage a team of auditors, and report findings to executive leadership and the Board. Requires 12+ years in security/audit and relevant credentials.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in internal audit or security with demonstrated leadership of cybersecurity-focused audits or security programs.
• Hands-on expertise in at least 2-3 areas from IAM, threat detection, incident response, security architecture, cryptography, cloud security, or app security.
• Relevant security certification required (CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or CCSK; CISA a plus).

Responsibilities

• Own and lead Coinbase's global security audit portfolio covering IAM, threat detection, incident response, security architecture, cryptography/key management, vulnerability management, application security, and crypto-native security.
• Partner with Security Engineering, Detection & Response, and AppSec teams as cybersecurity SME, providing independent audit perspective.
• Manage and develop a team of security auditors while personally leading high-complexity audits.
• Synthesize complex findings into clear, risk-prioritized reports for exec leadership, Audit Committee, and Board.
• Drive proactive identification of threats including crypto/blockchain attack vectors, AI/ML security risks, and supply chain risks.
• Champion security data analytics and AI tooling to modernize the security audit function.
