Job summary

Coinbase Internal Audit is seeking an IT Associate Manager to lead end-to-end IT and security audits across cloud infrastructure, security operations, and crypto-native products. You will mentor junior teammates and translate complex findings for senior leadership.

This remote-first role requires 6+ years in IT audit, hands-on AWS/GCP experience, and knowledge of NIST CSF/SOC 2/COBIT. Base salary ranges from $130,900 to $154,000 with equity/bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in IT internal or information security audit, with at least 1 year managing audit processes and staff.
• Hands-on audit experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), including IAM policies, security configurations, encryption, logging, and network architecture.
• Knowledge of audit frameworks such as NIST CSF, COBIT, SOC 2, ITIL; relevant certifications preferred (CISA/CISSP/CIA/CISM).
• Proven ability to lead multiple concurrent audits across time zones and communicate technical findings to diverse stakeholders.
• Familiarity with crypto, blockchain infrastructure, or financial services audit environments.
• Utilizes generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end execution of IT and security audits covering cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP), application security, IAM, vendor risk, and crypto-related products.
• Lead audit planning, fieldwork, and stakeholder management; synthesize findings into reports for senior leadership and Audit Committee.
• Mentor junior team members; review workpapers; coach on technical and professional growth.
• Drive continuous monitoring and validation of remediated findings; track management responses and risk themes.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Security, and IT leadership to identify control improvements while maintaining independence.
• Stay current on IT, security, and financial services regulatory requirements and their impact on Coinbase's controls.
