Job summary

University of Miami is seeking a temporary part-time Senior Manager, Research Administration (Contracts) to lead a team responsible for the drafting, review and negotiation of outbound subaward terms in a complex research environment.

You will coordinate with multiple offices, ensure compliance with NIH and sponsor policies, and drive process improvements using real-time dashboards and metrics. A strong background in research administration and exceptional communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of research administration and sponsored program regulations.
• Ability to lead, plan, delegate and supervise work of others.
• Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly numerate with strong analytic capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating outbound subaward terms.
• Collaborate with PI offices, Compliance, IRB, Technology Transfer, Risk Management, and other units to ensure compliant research initiation.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant regulations and policies, and monitor performance via dashboards.
• Provide updates and performance reports to senior management with clear metrics, turnaround times, and process improvements.
• Mentor staff, maintain internal controls, and coordinate documentation across departments.
