Job summary

FNTS is seeking a Mainframe Senior Engineer as part of a managed services engineering team. The role focuses on maintaining customer Mainframe environments, planning migrations, backups, and upscale issues, with emphasis on z/Series systems and Tivoli-like tooling.

The candidate brings 10+ years of Mainframe experience, strong communication, and the ability to work independently. Remote work is supported; some travel may be required, with a compensation range of $89,828.00–$148,215.00 and robust

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a Mainframe Systems Engineer.
• Deep knowledge of z/OS components (JES2, SDSF, TSO, RACF, HCD/IODF, SMP/E) and z/OS subsystems (JES2, WLM, OMVS/USS, SMF/RMF, RACF, ASM, GRS).
• Experience with CICS, IMS, DB2, MQ Series and related subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Perform reporting functions as required for the customer.
• Support cases and incidents not solvable by Ops.
• Installation, maintenance and configuration of ISV products.
• Assist with hardware configuration and upgrades.
• Migrate customer environments with minimal impact.
• Write and maintain system documentation.
• Work with customers on migration to FNTS or remote management.
• Implement technologies per team roadmap and new OS/hardware capabilities.
• Install new OS releases and major subsystem updates with testing.
• Maintain golden/sandbox templates for environments.
• Participate as Mainframe SME in technical infrastructure projects.
• Occasional after hours and weekend support.
