About the Role

Our client, a global leader in supply chain solutions, is seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Remote Senior Logistics Operations Manager to lead and optimize their extensive logistics network. This is a fully remote, senior-level position, allowing you to manage operations from anywhere within South Africa, with a focus on overseeing operations that intersect with the vibrant economic hub of Randburg, Gauteng, ZA . The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of end-to-end logistics, a proven track record in managing large teams and complex operations, and exceptional strategic thinking capabilities. You will be responsible for driving efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service excellence across all logistics functions, ensuring our client remains at the forefront of the industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and refine comprehensive logistics strategies to meet company objectives and enhance operational performance.
• Oversee day-to-day logistics operations, including warehousing, transportation, inventory management, and distribution.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational efficiency, cost management, and service levels.
• Identify and implement innovative solutions and technologies to streamline logistics processes and reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, regulatory, and legal requirements across all logistics functions.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, carriers, and other external partners.
• Develop and manage budgets for the logistics department, ensuring financial targets are met.
• Conduct regular performance reviews of operations and personnel, providing constructive feedback and development plans.
• Drive strategic initiatives to optimize the supply chain and enhance customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale, complex logistics operations.
• In-depth knowledge of warehousing, transportation, inventory control, and supply chain principles.
• Proven experience with logistics software, WMS, TMS, and ERP systems.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Ability to thrive in a fully remote work environment, demonstrating self-discipline and effective remote collaboration.
• Experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving change initiatives.
• Must be legally authorized to work in South Africa.
