Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or related field.
• 5+ years in industrial engineering, operations analysis, or process improvement.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement.
• Strong data interpretation and actionable insights.
• Experience with data analysis/simulation software (Excel, SQL, Python, Arena, AnyLogic).
• Excellent virtual communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Familiarity with WMS is advantageous.
• Authorized to work remotely within South Africa.

About the Role

Our client, a global leader in supply chain logistics and warehousing, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Remote Industrial Operations Specialist to join their expanding virtual team. This role is entirely remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing operational workflows and systems for our various logistics hubs and distribution centers. Your expertise will be critical in driving efficiency, reducing operational costs, and improving service levels across our client's extensive network. Key Responsibilities

• Remotely analyze operational data from various logistics and distribution centers to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
• Design and propose optimized workflow solutions, layout designs, and material handling systems.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehousing and logistics operations.
• Utilize simulation software and data analysis tools to model and test proposed operational changes.
• Collaborate virtually with on-site operations teams, management, and other stakeholders to implement process improvements.
• Conduct virtual audits and performance assessments of operational facilities.
• Develop business cases and present recommendations for operational enhancements and capital investments.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions in industrial engineering and logistics.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery and achievement of objectives.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management on operational performance and project outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering, operations analysis, or process improvement, preferably within the logistics or supply chain industry.
• Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and draw actionable insights.
• Proficiency in using data analysis and simulation software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, Arena, AnyLogic).
• Excellent virtual communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
• Experience in developing and implementing SOPs and process documentation.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous.
• Must be authorized to work remotely within South Africa.
