Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group (CSAA IG) is hiring a Sr. Litigation Specialist for a remote role across the United States. You will manage complex auto/home claims, direct defense counsel, and shape settlement strategy, while controlling costs and indemnity exposure. Travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, insurance or risk management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• High School diploma required.
• A proven experience handling insurance claims.
• Prior Senior Casualty experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes analysis of claim, which includes examining facts of the loss and other applicable factors. Creates discovery plan including depositions, retention of experts, Independent Medical Exams (IMEs), and accident reconstruction for first and third-party claims which range from a minor to very sophisticated nature.
• Directly contacts defense counsel providing direction, authority for resolution (i.e., settle or go to trial), and ensures appropriate outcome in balancing defense costs and indemnity.
• Conducts comprehensive review of liability, damages, coverage, and risk to assess for individual independent settlement.
• Collaborates with defense counsel to identify strategy for negotiations and provides input as the face of the organization via phone or in-person mediations and settlement conferences.
• Authorizes, approves, and monitors budget for outside counsel and uses bill review software to analyze defense expenses.
• Prepares and presents recommendations for litigated cases for review with local and executive management to the IELT level.
• Secures authority up to the highest levels for resolution.
