Job summary

Globalchannelmanagement is seeking a Remote Principal Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) for Linux Kernel & AI Platform. This senior technologist will own test strategy, automation, and validation for a distributed Linux-based compute platform, collaborating with core engineering to deliver high performance, reliability, and security at scale.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years in software engineering or deep systems testing, deep Linux kernel knowledge, and expert scripting in Python,

Qualifications

12+ years of relevant software engineering or deep systems test experience.
Advanced Linux kernel-level development and validation using C.
Expert-level system-level automation with Python, Shell or Perl.
Deep knowledge of Linux kernel internals: KVM, Virtio, cgroups, memory, filesystems, I/O.
Experience with Ethernet/TCP/IP drivers and troubleshooting.
Proficiency with Linux kernel debugging tools and performance benchmarking.
CI/CD infrastructure design and automated testing frameworks.
Strong problem solving across non-deterministic systems.
Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Lead kernel test strategy and quality benchmarks for a custom Linux kernel.
Design and scale automated test frameworks focused on performance, reliability, security.
Evolve infrastructure with kernel/VM versions and CI/testing tooling.
Perform deep Linux kernel debugging, benchmarking, and validation.
Collaborate with core engineering to set rigid quality standards.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship in a distributed remote team.
