MaxIT Consulting – Max Corporate Group is seeking a Senior Linux/SDET Engineer for a highly distributed Linux-based AI and compute environment. This remote, US-based role focuses on test strategy, automation, and system-level validation.

The ideal candidate has deep Linux kernel internals expertise, strong C development, virtualization experience (KVM) and advanced automation skills. You will lead testing strategy, build scalable tests, and mentor peers across a global team.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software/systems engineering or related field with testing focus.
• Strong C development experience in Linux kernel or low-level environments.
• Proven Linux kernel debugging, performance benchmarking, and system validation.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI and automated testing frameworks.
• Experience with virtualization (KVM) and Virtio drivers.

Responsibilities

• Lead testing and validation strategy for Linux kernel infrastructure in AI/compute environments.
• Design, build, and scale automated test frameworks for performance and reliability.
• Develop comprehensive test suites for kernel enhancements and infra changes.
• Migrate and validate kernel/virtualization changes across platforms.
• Troubleshoot low-level system issues across test and simulated production environments.
• Perform kernel debugging, benchmarking, and system-level validation.
• Improve build, automation, CI, and continuous testing infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to set quality standards and scale reliability.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineers.
• Identify and resolve performance, reliability, virtualization, networking, and storage issues.
