Job summary

Epiq Counsel is partnering with a Fortune 500 financial services and private equity company to identify a talented Legal Operations professional for a 9-month engagement, fully remote. The role supports modernization of processes, data governance, and outside counsel management, acting as a strategic partner to legal leadership in driving efficiency.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in legal operations, expertise in spend management, matter management, and legal tech implementations, with

Qualifications

5+ years of legal operations experience with spend, outside counsel, matter, vendor management, reporting, analytics and tech implementations.
Experience driving large-scale change management and stakeholder influence.
Familiarity with legal ops platforms such as Apperio, Pursuit, Onit, or Legal Tracker is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Revise and modernize outside counsel guidelines and policies; improve legal spend management and e-billing operations.
Strengthen data taxonomy and reporting capabilities.
Develop executive-facing dashboards and metrics; support matter management initiatives and platform adoption.
Manage vendor and law firm relationships.
Drive outside counsel sourcing and rate negotiation strategies.
Advance AI-enabled legal operations initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders across the legal department.
