Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer with extensive Java experience to join a completely remote team. You will design and build scalable backend services for enterprise applications, mentor junior engineers, and drive technical excellence across a globally distributed group.

The role focuses on backend development using Java ecosystems, including Spring Boot and Hibernate, with RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud/containers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on Java.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate, or similar Java frameworks.
• Strong understanding of OO design principles and design patterns.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and SQL.
• Familiarity with build tools (Maven, Gradle) and Git.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containers (Docker) is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for remote teamwork.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
