Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation is seeking a Senior Full Stack Java & Azure Engineer for a remote United States role. You will design, develop, and secure cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Azure services to deliver scalable solutions.

You will collaborate with product, security, QE, DevOps, and operations teams, mentor engineers, and strengthen engineering patterns, CI/CD, and security-by-design across projects. The role emphasizes flexibility and collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with full-stack development across modern web apps, APIs, data stores, and distributed systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, API development, and cloud-native application design.
• Experience designing secure, maintainable, and testable software using OO principles, design patterns, and API-first approaches.
• Experience building cloud-native, containerized, and event-driven solutions, including asynchronous integrations.
• Strong DevSecOps experience across CI/CD, automated testing, code quality, dependency and security scanning, source control, and deployment controls.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, infrastructure as code, cloud configuration, secrets management, and environment promotion strategies.
• Strong troubleshooting and observability skills across applications, integrations, data, pipelines, and cloud platforms.
• Ability to provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and collaborate across product, architecture, security, QE, DevOps, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support secure, reliable, and maintainable software aligned with approved architecture and engineering standards.
• Develop Java/Spring Boot APIs, modern web and PWA capabilities, Azure integrations, data-access components, and containerized workloads.
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and quality controls, security checks, branch protections, and repeatable deployment processes.
• Apply security-by-design practices across authentication, authorization, secrets management, sensitive data, dependencies, logging, and least-privilege access.
• Mentor engineers, provide actionable code-review feedback, and establish reusable engineering patterns and development standards.
• Proactively identify technical risks and delivery roadblocks and collaborate with stakeholders to drive resolution.
