Job summary

Lumen is seeking a highly technical systems engineer to lead and contribute to multi-team system integration projects. You will design, test, implement, and validate enterprise systems in cloud environments and on-premises, with a focus on reliability and security.

Responsibilities include deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters, automating with Ansible/Puppet/Chef, and supporting production systems. Strong scripting and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years current Linux systems engineering experience (Redhat, CentOS, Rocky) and troubleshooting.
• 3+ years of Kubernetes experience to include developing helm charts and deploying applications.
• 3+ years with Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services.
• 5+ years with Elasticsearch experience to include indexing, clustering, managing, and troubleshooting.
• 5+ years with automation in Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in multiple team environments for system integration.
• Design, analyze, review, test, implement, and validate systems.
• Provide independent effort with minimal supervision.
• Configure and administer systems in cloud environments.
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and containers.
• Develop requirements-based technical solutions for new projects.
• Build, integrate, test, and deploy systems for production use.
• Evaluate and implement future technologies to enhance capabilities.
• Maintain and upgrade existing applications and add functionality.
• Mentor teammates on new technologies and best practices.
• Provide rapid operational support for production equipment.
