Job summary

Lumen is seeking a senior Linux systems engineer with extensive Docker and cloud experience for a hybrid role in Maryland. You will lead and participate in multi-team system integration activities, coordinate with customers, and help deploy containerized solutions across dev, test, and production environments.

The role requires strong Linux networking knowledge, proficiency with automation tools, and the ability to work onsite weekly with customers while supporting security and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Linux systems engineering experience (RHEL, Rocky).
• 5+ years Docker experience to deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containers.
• 3+ years with Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services.
• 3+ years with automation in Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Hybrid role with onsite with customer once a week.
• US Citizen with an active DoD TOP SECRET clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in multiple team environments across system integration, design, testing, implementation, and validation.
• Coordinate with customers to define requirements, engineer solutions, and implement into production.
• Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize containerized applications across dev/test/prod environments.
• Deploy, configure, and administer systems in Google Cloud Platform.
• Mentor teammates and provide rapid operational support and issue resolution.
