Job summary

Lumen Technologies is seeking a highly technical systems engineer to lead and participate in end-to-end system integration across on-prem and cloud environments. You will design, implement, test, and validate complex solutions while working with Google Cloud and AWS.

The role requires self-sufficiency and strong collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams. Key focus areas include Kubernetes administration, Elasticsearch operations, and automation using Ansible, Puppet or Chef.

Qualifications

• 5+ years current Linux systems engineering experience (Redhat, CentOS, Rocky).
• 3+ years Kubernetes experience including helm charts and deploying apps.
• 3+ years with Google Cloud Platform or AWS.
• 5+ years Elasticsearch experience including indexing and clustering.
• 5+ years automation using Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Knowledge of computer networking, security, encryption and cross-domain tech.
• Willingness to travel and be available for outages (on-call).

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in system integration, design review, testing and validation.
• Monitor and resolve incidents in Google Cloud and AWS infrastructure.
• Deploy, configure and administer systems in cloud environments.
• Support and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and containers.
• Develop test plans based on security and functional requirements.
• Mentor teammates and provide rapid operational support.
