Job summary

Viasat is seeking a Senior Manager of Internal Communications to join its Corporate Communications team. The role is fully remote within the United States and focuses on connecting employees to strategy and culture across Engineering, VGS, and corporate functions.

You will translate complex priorities into effective communications and lead a growing team. You will partner with executives to shape messaging, governance, and programs, while mentoring junior staff and driving continuous improvement

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in internal or corporate communications, with experience supporting complex, matrixed organizations; government/defense experience preferred
• 3+ years of direct people management, setting priorities and developing talent
• Demonstrated ability to serve as a strategic communications advisor to senior leaders
• Strong business acumen and ability to translate complex topics into clear communications
• Ability to operate with autonomy, make decisions, manage multiple priorities and take accountability
• Willingness to travel up to 10%

Responsibilities

• Own the internal communications strategy and roadmap for Engineering, VGS, and other functions; align with business objectives
• Advise senior executives and leaders on messaging, priorities, and stakeholder considerations
• Lead executive communications, including presentations, talking points, and employee updates
• Coach leaders and develop junior staff to strengthen strategic communications capabilities
• Establish measures of communications effectiveness and provide actionable insights to leaders
