Viasat is seeking an onsite Internal Communications Manager to support the Government segment in Carlsbad, CA or Washington D.C. You will join a larger Corporate Communications team that informs 7,000+ employees, aligning messaging with business strategy and branding.

You will partner with VGov leadership to translate complex defense and government information into clear, engaging communications, driving employee engagement and organizational alignment across a global workforce.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of internal communications and change management experience, preferably in government, defense or regulated sectors.
• Subject matter expert capable of managing programs of significant scope with independence.
• Thinker and advisor with executive presence to guide senior leadership.
• Strategic thinker translating complex goals into clear employee communications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for global audiences with precise tone and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of VGov products, priorities, customers, and objectives to support business outcomes.
• Lead and execute internal communications strategies tailored to Viasat Government.
• Support change management, organizational alignment, and business growth initiatives.
• Translate complex government/defense information into clear messages for employees.
• Serve as trusted advisor to VGov leadership on messaging and engagement.
• Identify gaps and implement proactive improvements to keep employees informed.
• Ensure internal messaging aligns with external government relations and branding guidelines.
• Influence stakeholders across Corporate Communications, Marketing, and leadership.
• Build relationships across VGov units to foster transparency and collaboration.
• Track messaging effectiveness using feedback and business insights.
