Job summary

The University of Michigan School of Nursing (UMSN) PMO seeks an experienced instructional design professional to design, develop, and maintain engaging online and hybrid courses in collaboration with UMSN faculty. The Instructional Learning Senior will manage multiple projects, create accessible learning environments, and support adoption of instructional solutions to improve student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in instructional design, educational technology, or related field; master's preferred.
• 3+ years of professional instructional design experience, preferably in higher education.
• Experience designing online and hybrid courses with accessibility and inclusive-design practices.
• Experience evaluating and implementing educational technologies.
• Experience developing interactive learning materials using LMS and authoring tools.
• Experience applying generative AI to course design and assessment responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain online and hybrid courses with evidence-based instructional design principles.
• Create inclusive, accessible, learner-centered experiences with interaction, reflection, collaboration, and application to practice.
• Align objectives, content, activities, assessments, and materials with outcomes.
• Recommend instructional strategies and technologies based on goals and resources.
• Apply AI appropriately to course design, content, and assessments.
• Develop interactive learning experiences using tools like Articulate Storyline.
• Evaluate course quality via accessibility reviews, feedback, and data.
• Provide faculty consultations with tailored instruction and guidance.
• Manage multiple course-development projects and requests with overlapping schedules.
