Job summary

Samsara is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer for its Customer Education team. This role focuses on turning complex software features into clear, engaging learning experiences for diverse customer personas, utilizing AI-assisted authoring and scalable formats across on-demand, video, in-app learning, live sessions and certifications.

You will collaborate with Customer Success, Product, Sales and Implementation to own a product area's learning journey and deliver effective assessments, while

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years learning design or instructional design experience in a software/Saas setting
• Knowledge of Instructional Design standard methodologies and a proven ability to craft learning content that is effective and engaging
• Ability to communicate abstract or technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences (visually and in writing)
• Ability to identify the best learning delivery formats (e.g., online learning, assessments, audio-based lessons) for a specific set of objectives
• Collaboration skills and teamwork
• Attention to design aesthetics and visual detail.
• Knowledge of legacy and emerging content development tools such as: Parta.io , Articulate, Camtasia, Zoom, Clueso etc.

Responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders across the company to define training requirements, learning goals and user needs for both customers and partners
• Craft and build learning & credentialing experiences in different formats (online learning, audio, video, in-app, etc.), working within the constraints of different templates and business requirements
• Leverage a wide range of tools (AI-based content authoring, multimedia) to develop content rapidly and iteratively
• Push yourself and the team to evolve and improve upon our processes, and to discover and test new instructional development models and tooling
• Solicit reviews from partners and SMEs, and review others’ content and assessments for effectiveness
• Own an assigned Samsara product area, by monitoring updates, maintaining its curriculum, and partnering with leadership on incoming requests
• Build product expertise through self-directed research, available AI tools, and targeted collaboration with SMEs to validate content
• Design and write engaging and effective assessments
• Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s values and operating principles as we scale globally and across new offices
