Job summary

The Ohio State University seeks a Manager of Inpatient Coding to lead the inpatient coding team within Health System Shared Services. You will oversee ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, drive MS-DRG/APR-DRG determinations for billing and analytics, and train coders to ensure accuracy and compliance.

As a remote-location manager, you will collaborate with CDI, Revenue Cycle, and clinical departments to optimize revenue and accuracy while maintaining regulatory compliance and high-quality coding

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of progressive hospital-based coding experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Administration or equivalent preferred.
• Credentialed as RHIT, RHIA, or CCS by AHIMA.
• Experience with computer-assisted coding, coding automation, and revenue cycle analytics.
• Experience collaborating with CDI, Revenue Cycle, Patient Financial Services, physicians, and clinical departments.

Responsibilities

• Set daily priorities and monitor accounts not coded.
• Train coders and support coding specialists in ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM/PCS coding.
• Determine MS-DRG and APR-DRG for billing and statistics.
• Monitor compliance with policies, procedures, and billing rules.
• Interact with Department Administration, Managers, medical staff, and clinical operations.
