Job summary

EXP Services Inc. seeks a Senior / Principal High-Voltage & HVDC Substation Electrical Engineer to lead HV design for utility-scale projects. This role covers MV, HV, and EHV substations up to 765 kV, including HVDC interfaces.

You will serve as a technical authority on insulation coordination, grounding, and system studies, guiding teams across disciplines and coordinating with utilities, EPCs, and renewable developers. Remote work options available in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (Power Systems preferred).
• 8+ years of progressive experience in high-voltage and extra-high-voltage substation engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred; strong safety, constructability, and standards knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Function as senior technical authority and design lead in MV, HV, and EHV substations up to 765 kV.
• Perform and direct detailed electrical and physical design of substations 15 kV through 765 kV.
• Lead studies including load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, and harmonic analysis.
• Develop one-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, and guarding control schemes.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with utilities, EPCs, and developers.
