Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Human Centered Design & UX Analyst to support human-centered design across VA Veterans Health Administration Connected Health tools. You will join a cross-functional sprint team, develop validated workflows, and address usability issues in both development and production environments.

The role emphasizes user research, rapid prototyping, and adherence to VA design systems and accessibility standards, with travel across the continental US as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of work experience in HCD/HFE.
• Experience supporting qualitative research activities.
• Ability to produce and maintain design artifacts such as journey maps, personas, or wireframes.
• Familiarity with Mural or similar collaborative tools; willing to develop facilitation skills.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards including Section 508 and WCAG 2.2.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present research findings clearly.
• Willingness to travel regularly within the continental US for onsite research.

Responsibilities

• Elicit user requirements and develop validated workflows and wireframes for development teams.
• Plan, conduct, and analyze user research to derive insights and translate findings into recommendations.
• Coordinate recruitment and scheduling with VA leads for research participants.
• Develop and maintain HCD artifacts (journey maps, personas, workflows, wireframes).
• Support heuristic evaluation, field testing, and pilots with thorough documentation.
