Chainguard is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help secure and scale the open source supply chain. You will build and maintain backend services in Go on GCP, own complex features, and collaborate with engineers to implement scalable patterns.

The role emphasizes data-driven reliability, on-call readiness, and contributing IaC with Terraform. Remote-friendly role spanning the US, Canada, and the UK, with emphasis on production readiness, observability, and customer-facing APIs.

Qualifications

• Solid backend engineering foundation with production systems experience.
• Strong Go engineering skills and hands-on GCP+Terraform experience.
• Able to tackle unstructured data problems with a methodical approach.
• Experience in teams valuing monitoring, alerts, and graceful degradation.
• Ability to scope and drive features independently with minimal oversight.
• Familiarity with Agentic AI workflows and customer-facing APIs.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain core components of the clearing house in Go on GCP.
• Own ambiguous problems and features from design through production.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to implement scalable architectural patterns.
• Handle unstructured data inputs and produce structured outputs.
• Design and operate reliable agentic workflows across production systems.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident postmortems.
• Lead multi-engineer efforts on core subsystems over months.
• Review code, provide feedback, and raise engineering standards.
• Contribute IaC and tooling using Terraform and GCP-native tools.
