Job summary

Chainguard is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build Athena and the enterprise-grade clearing house that processes vulnerability signals for remediation at scale. You will own backend components in Go on GCP, design resilient data pipelines, and collaborate with senior engineers to ensure reliable production systems.

You will operate in a remote-first culture, participate in on-call rotations, and contribute to infrastructure as code with Terraform.

Qualifications

• Solid backend engineering foundation shipping and maintaining production systems.
• Strong Go engineering skills with GCP and Terraform experience.
• Capability to handle unstructured data problems with a methodical approach.
• Experience in teams prioritizing monitoring, alerting, and graceful degradation.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain core components of the clearing house in Go on GCP, including onboarding flows and data ingestion pipelines.
• Own ambiguous problems or features from design through production with testing and observability.
• Collaborate with staff and principal engineers to implement scalable architectural patterns.
• Write backend systems that process unstructured inputs into structured outputs.
• Design and operate reliable workflows across production systems.
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident response/postmortems.
• Become a go-to engineer for core subsystems and lead multi-engineer efforts.
• Review code and raise engineering bar.
