Ladders is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join a mission-driven team serving learners and educators. You’ll own production code across the stack using React, TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS, collaborating with product and education stakeholders to build accessible software.

Location is remote for US-based candidates. Compensation ranges from $120,000 to $145,000 annually, with opportunities to mentor others and influence classroom outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent training.
• 5+ years of professional full-stack software development experience.
• Strong understanding of software design principles and modern engineering practices.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with React for frontend development.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Node.js for backend development.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and thrive in a collaborative environment.
• Genuine passion for education products and commitment to equitable tools for learners.

Responsibilities

• Write, test, and ship code across the stack using React, TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS.
• Own the code you ship, including monitoring, debugging, and incident response.
• Improve the codebase with a focus on clarity, maintainability, and pragmatic tradeoffs.
• Mentor and elevate the skills of fellow engineers through code reviews and pairing.
• Engage with AI tools to enhance productivity while maintaining good judgment.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and education experts to create user-friendly software.
