Schoolhouse is seeking Senior Software Engineers to join our five-person engineering team and own end-to-end features used by hundreds of thousands of learners and tutors worldwide.

You’ll collaborate with designers and stakeholders to prototype, ship, and scale safe, high-quality experiences, balancing speed with usability and impact.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a full-stack software engineer with a track record of leading projects from concept to launch.
• Ability to anticipate risks and balance speed, quality, and user experience.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, React, Next.js, and PostgreSQL.
• Builds with the user in mind and ships features that solve real problems.
• You can work in a US timezone and collaborate across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with users and teammates to define problems and drive prototypes through deployment.
• Break ambiguous work into manageable steps and coordinate contributions.
• Write clean, readable code and establish patterns for future work.
• Mentor teammates through code reviews and pairing sessions.
