Job summary

Humana is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop frontend features for care teams and patients using TypeScript, React, and Next.js. You will shape AI-assisted interfaces, deliver full-stack capabilities, and contribute to a shared design system while ensuring HIPAA compliance and accessibility.

The role emphasizes building robust, user-friendly experiences with attention to clinical context and data privacy, in a remote setup with occasional travel to offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (or equivalent).
• 5+ years of software engineering with strong frontend depth.
• Expert-level TypeScript and React.
• Hands-on Next.js including App Router, SSR/SSG and server components.
• Ability to build and consume REST/GraphQL APIs and deliver full-stack features independently.
• Strong eye for UX quality and accessibility (WCAG).
• Experience with HIPAA frontend considerations and AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Frontend feature development using TypeScript, React, Next.js for care team members and patients.
• AI output rendering: translate AI capabilities into intuitive UI patterns for high-stakes contexts.
• Full-stack delivery across SSR/SSG, APIs, and client-side state management.
• Contribute to component library and design system; ensure design consistency.
• Ensure WCAG accessibility and HIPAA-compliant frontend practices.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and design reviews.
