Job summary

Samsara is seeking an Engineering Manager for Firmware who will own the handoff of AI models to edge devices across our fleet. You will lead from the front on design, implementation, and optimization of high-performance embedded systems and help scale edge AI across our products.

You will mentor engineers, shape the edge ML strategy, collaborate with Product and Hardware teams, and build a resilient team culture focused on ownership, delivery quality, and customer impact.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on, execution-oriented technical management experience
• 8+ years of experience in embedded systems and edge ML development
• Proven track record shipping mass production products
• Strong interpersonal skills for a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
• Experience deploying CV/ML models on edge devices in real-world applications

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership across design, implementation, and optimization of high-performance production systems
• Set the technical bar for edge ML and embedded systems, guiding latency, power and memory tradeoffs
• Turn new AI capabilities into shipped products with cross-functional collaboration
• Shape the roadmap with leadership on quarterly plans and balancing product ambition with engineering health
• Hire and develop top talent, fostering ownership and accountability in a growing team
