Job summary

Missionwell seeks a remote senior financial leader to guide nonprofits with integrity and strategic clarity. You will blend hands-on accounting leadership, Controller and fractional CFO support, and team development across engagements.

In this role you’ll partner with executives and boards on budgets, forecasts, and financial strategy, oversee GAAP compliance and donor restrictions, and drive process improvements while maintaining high standards of service and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in accounting and finance for large nonprofit programs.
• Experience with month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to executives and boards.
• Experience managing staff and cross-functional financial work.

Responsibilities

• Lead onboarding and systems setup for partner organizations and ensure quality controls.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, month-end close, and reporting.
• Provide CFO-level advisory, budgets, cash planning, and strategic risk management.
• Coach and develop the accounting team and maintain client relationships.
