Job summary

Mercury Insurance Company seeks a Senior Manager Software Engineering to build and lead high-performing teams, hire and mentor talent, and align with product roadmaps. You will drive budgeting, plan delivery, and design scalable, secure systems while pushing for innovative technical strategies across Mercury’s application portfolio.

You will guide teams hands-on through feature delivery, enforce best practices, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure quality and timely releases.

Qualifications

10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years leading staff.
Experience leading customer-facing digital experiences across multiple surfaces.
Strong full-stack product engineering background with API-driven contracts.
Insurance domain experience is a plus; building quote/purchase/service apps.
Proven ability to drive engineering best practices and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Hire, mentor, and motivate software engineering staff.
Drive budgeting and planning for their area.
Collaborate with product managers to estimate effort and roadmap.
Lead hands-on delivery of features and improvements.
Ensure security, compliance, and scalable architecture.
Promote CI/CD adoption and process optimization.
