OpenAI is seeking an experienced technical recruiter to lead engineering leadership searches within Applied Foundations. You will own the search from definition and mapping through assessment, offers, and close, partnering with senior leaders to map roles and outcomes.

You will leverage market intelligence, build talent maps, and engage top engineering leaders, while guiding stakeholders on compensation and strategic alignment.

Qualifications

• Substantial technical recruiting experience with a track record of owning and closing engineering leadership searches.
• Experience in executive search or in-house leadership recruiting is valuable.
• Able to evaluate leadership scope beyond titles and partner with hiring managers.
• Build credibility with senior engineering leaders and offer clear recommendations.
• Manage complex offers and understand compensation, role scope, and organizational context.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle searches for engineering managers and senior leaders across Applied Foundations.
• Partner with hiring leaders to define scope, expectations, and outcomes.
• Develop talent maps and targeted search strategies using direct sourcing and market intel.
• Engage passive leadership candidates through thoughtful outreach and conversations.
• Advise senior stakeholders using market intelligence and search evidence.
• Own complex closing strategies with compensation teams during offers.
• Maintain a rigorous operating rhythm and provide a consistent candidate experience.
• Share insights to improve assessment approaches and team navigation.
