Paylocity is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead multiple engineering teams in a remote-first setup. You will align payroll-domain engineering with business goals, guide architecture decisions, and ensure high quality and scalable software delivery.

You will own team health, mentor managers, and drive cross-functional collaboration with product and technology leadership. Strong communication and AI-enabled SDLC experience are valued.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 4+ years in a management role overseeing multiple teams.
• Experience leveraging observability/monitoring tools such as DataDog and PagerDuty.
• Leading and scaling high-performing engineering teams in SaaS/enterprise software.
• Strong communication with stakeholders and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Act as a direct servant leader for 4 teams and 2 principal engineers.
• Collaborate with leadership to guide team strategy and priorities.
• Analyze complex Payroll domain systems to steer team success.
• Maintain health and quality of multiple products and scale them.
• Define and communicate project timelines and architectures.
• Lead operational incidents and postmortems to prevent recurrence.
• Hire and develop globally distributed engineering talent.
• Provide regular feedback and drive high-quality, secure, scalable software.
