Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise Development LP seeks a Resident Engineer for Service Provider Routing and Switching to work from home as a remote/teleworker.

You will troubleshoot large-scale IP networks, perform design and implementation work on HPE Juniper platforms (MX/PTX/ACX), develop operating procedures, and train customer staff to configure and operate the solutions, focusing on reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of design, implementation, and operational experience in large-scale IP networks.
• JUNOS CLI experience.
• Must have large-scale experience with routing devices MX, PTX, and ACX.
• Background in automation with Ansible, YAML, and HPE Juniper PyEZ.
• Experience writing automation scripts in Python.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment and network problems and open and track JTAC cases to resolve problems on pre- and post-production issues.
• Hold network information gathering workshops with the Customer to understand existing network design and requirements.
• Understand Customer’s organizational structure and support processes to help in supporting a reliable network.
• Produce written status reports on design projects, equipment, and network problems for the customer.
• Hold technology workshops with the customer to discuss issues and provide case status updates.
• Train customer staff to configure and operate HPE Juniper products.
• Assist customer in developing Network Operating and Equipment Operating Procedures.
• Assess health of a network based on HPE Juniper products.
• Develop fault diagnosis procedures to support effective resolution.
• Develop network operating procedures and implementation plans for HPE Juniper products.
• Support production environment in customer infrastructure.
• Define best-practice policies for HPE Juniper product applications.
• Collaborate with HPE Juniper teams on new software/features challenges.
