Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Senior Energy Storage Engineer to support the US Navy in Crane, IN. This role is 100% remote; travel to Crane, IN is required about twice monthly.

The engineer will design, develop, and integrate shipboard power and energy storage systems, develop program documentation, and support lifecycle management for DoW programs. US citizenship and ability to obtain Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
• Five or more years of experience.
• Experience with DoW Systems Engineering processes.
• Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance; interim clearance required and SAIC will sponsor the process.
• US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Characterize Li-ion battery performance and failure modes; develop test plans and containment concepts.
• Provide engineering design and systems integration support for DoW power and energy storage programs.
• Assist with investigations of power and energy systems and storage enclosures.
• Review and analyze commercially developed studies and assessments for the Government.
• Support DoW acquisition and acquisition management elements.
