Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Senior Software Systems Engineer to support the US Navy in Crane, IN. You will design, develop, and test embedded software for defense systems in a lab environment, using C++ and OO design principles.

You will author and maintain technical documents, participate in reviews and TIMs, and ensure DoD guidelines and safety standards are followed. U.S. citizenship is required; interim secret clearance to start with sponsorship for a secret clearance will be provided by SAIC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Embedded Systems and C++ in OO design.
• US citizenship; interim secret clearance required to start; SAIC will sponsor the clearance process.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded software for defense and electronic warfare systems in the SPIN/MUEU lab environment.
• Write clean, maintainable C++ code following object-oriented design principles and best practices.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including SDDs, ICDs, test plans and procedures; perform code reviews.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex hardware/software integration issues in a lab setting.
• Collaborate with systems and hardware engineers and government customers to define software requirements.
• Support software configuration management and version control processes.
• Participate in design reviews, TIMs, and program milestone events.
• Ensure compliance with coding standards, safety requirements, and DoD software development guidelines.
