Job summary

Vanderlande is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to support the North American Service Distribution Team in a remote role requiring frequent site travel. You will design, specify, and commission material handling systems across North America, coordinating with multiple disciplines to ensure safe, efficient operation.

You will lead retrofit projects, review designs for compliance, and guide engineers to optimize performance within budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology.
• Minimum of 8 years of related work experience (4 years in material handling or similar process industry).
• Or (EE/ET) with 12 years related experience (4 years in material handling or similar process industry).
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 30%.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 and electrical/controls design standards.
• Advanced skills with AutoCAD Electrical and control system design.

Responsibilities

• Develop compliant electrical and process control systems meeting customer specs and safety regulations.
• Peer review designs for compliance and safety.
• Optimize system functionality from as-sold to working electrical design within budget.
• Size components and equipment via detailed calculations (conductor sizing, voltage drop, motor starters, protection).
• Design and review complex process control systems using PLCs, sensors, drives, and networks.
• Travel to sites for surveys and assist installation/commissioning remotely.
• Document engineering decisions and provide installation instructions to site teams.
