Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team on building projects nationwide. Remote within the U.S. is supported, with preferred proximity to major metro areas.

Under direction of a licensed engineer, you will design electrical systems for healthcare, education, corporate, and science/tech facilities, produce drawings and specs, and supervise junior staff. ABET degree, 6+ years, and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering; ABET accreditation preferred.
• Minimum 6 years related experience.
• EIT/FE preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Independent thinker with strong analytical and communication skills.
• Proficient in engineering design software and multi-project management.

Responsibilities

• Participate in project teamwork planning and may take a lead role.
• May assume project engineering responsibilities and meet financial/work goals.
• Perform electrical engineering design for building construction.
• Design lighting, power, signaling, communications systems per codes.
• Prepare construction documents and guide junior staff.
• Conduct quality control checks and respond to RFIs.
• Review shop drawings and change orders; conduct site visits.
