Job summary

Merck seeks a Senior Manager, Medical Affairs to lead a field-based oncology team across the US, overseeing recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management, while ensuring FDA/OIG/HIPAA compliance and scientific education.

You will plan and execute disease state support plans, provide project support to the national Medical Affairs organization, manage regional budgets and coordinate resource development. Remote work with 25% travel is expected.

Qualifications

• MD/PhD/PharmD with ability to lead scientific colleagues across skill levels
• Excellent interpersonal communication, integrity, teamwork, business acumen
• Strong understanding of FDA, OIG, HIPAA and related regulations for compliance
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and adapt in a changing environment and motivate others
• Previous oncology experience
• Three+ years in a field-based medical role with demonstrated customer engagement and education

Responsibilities

• Recruit, onboard, train and manage a field-based medical team
• Lead performance management with objective alignment and development plans
• Communicate disease state support plans and ensure execution
• Coordinate resources and plan development with team members
• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations and safety in field environment
• Support project management to develop and execute Oncology disease support plans
• Manage regional team budget; review and approve expense reports
