Follett Software, LLC is seeking a Senior Director of Software Development to lead the engineering organization for library products including K-12 and international solutions. The role governs delivery, modernization, and operational performance across the portfolio, from planning to release, with a strong emphasis on security, scalability, and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
12+ years of software development leadership experience, including senior engineering leadership responsible for multiple teams/product lines.
Proven success leading large or multi-product engineering functions with direct reports who are people leaders.
Experience delivering SaaS/web applications and hybrid software environments.
Experience modernizing systems including legacy tech while moving toward scalable, maintainable approaches.
Familiarity with Azure or comparable cloud platforms, CI/CD, automated testing, release management, and secure development practices.
Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution in a fast-paced, multi-product environment.
Strong leadership, communication, and data-informed decision-making skills.
Experience leading engineering across international or multi-market product lines.

Responsibilities

Lead the engineering organizations for domestic and international Library Management products and the Destiny platform, ensuring delivery, team health, and operational continuity.
Define and execute an engineering vision aligned to product strategy and customer needs, owning delivery of the roadmap.
Provide technical leadership across architecture, modernization, and operational excellence with focus on scalability and security.
Partner with Product, Design, QA, Cloud Engineering, and Support to translate priorities into engineering execution.
Develop and grow development managers and senior engineers, with clear performance expectations and career development.
Create a positive, inclusive engineering culture emphasizing accountability and collaboration.
