Job summary

Caliza seeks a Senior Software Engineer, DevOps to own the infrastructure used to run, ship, and monitor our platform end to end. You will write production code, build pipelines, and uphold high security and reliability standards in a remote, fast-moving startup.

You will work on AWS-based Kubernetes environments, observability, incident response, and cost optimization while collaborating with security and compliance teams. Strong English and async communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in Java or Kotlin with production code experience.
• 5+ years in infrastructure, DevOps or SRE roles.
• Experience operating production systems on AWS.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes in production.
• Infrastructure as code using AWS CDK, Terraform or similar, plus Helm.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines, ideally GitHub Actions.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools like New Relic.
• A security‑first mindset: least privilege, secrets management, network security.
• Comfort with on‑call and incident response.
• Hands-on AI-assisted development and strong code review skills.
• Ability to work with high autonomy in a remote startup and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and evolve our Kubernetes-based AWS infrastructure using CDK and Helm.
• Build and improve deployment pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Write production code for infrastructure, internal tooling, and application services.
• Own observability with New Relic dashboards, alerts, and SLOs.
• Operate managed services like CloudAMQP, MongoDB Atlas, and PostgreSQL.
• Manage secrets, access controls and identity infrastructure.
• Design for high availability and lead incident response and postmortems.
• Optimize AWS cost and performance and collaborate on security/compliance.
