Job summary

Optum Technology seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead end-to-end release lifecycles for Java apps on Azure. You will design robust CI/CD pipelines, manage IaC with Terraform, and build AI-powered automation to streamline deployment and operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Release Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Software Engineering.
• 3+ years supporting Java apps including Spring Boot, Maven, and/or Gradle.
• 3+ years with Azure services and Terraform across full lifecycle.
• 3+ years CI/CD with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or similar.
• 2+ years designing AI agents or agent-based automation for engineering workflows.
• 2+ years experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and related tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end release lifecycle for Java apps on Azure, enforcing governance and parity.
• Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
• Develop AI agents to improve release engineering and deployment support.
• Build and manage Azure infrastructure with Terraform across AKS, App Services, networking, and storage.
• Implement modern deployment strategies (blue/green, canary, rolling).
• Identify automation to reduce manual effort and improve stability.
• Collaborate with development, SRE, security, and platform teams on reusable automation.
