Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior DBA to support database operations and design improvements for a Federal Office of Child Support Enforcement program. You will optimize PostgreSQL and MySQL on Amazon RDS, automate deployments, manage upgrades and recovery, and drive performance enhancements while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident with an active Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

• AWS Glue databases and Athena tables experience
• AWS services experience (Lambda, Lake Formation, QuickSight, DynamoDB, Redshift, MSK/Kafka, Kinesis, ElastiCache, OpenSearch)
• Containerization with Docker/Kubernetes for PostgreSQL/MySQL on ECS/EKS or via RDS Proxy
• Experience supporting Java and PySpark applications
• Experience developing and executing Ansible scripts

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements to propose database solutions for online and batch systems.
• Coordinate with teams to define system requirements and data flows.
• Design and deploy PostgreSQL/MySQL on Amazon RDS with performance improvements.
• Create and maintain database scripts, procedures, tables, triggers, and views using Python, Shell, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
• Manage upgrades, restores, failover, recovery, and replication with minimal oversight.
• Monitor health and performance with CloudWatch Database Insights.
• Maintain data architecture artifacts and security controls.
