Job summary

Intelerad in the United States is seeking a Database Manager to lead the team responsible for designing, building, and operating the database architecture behind our PACS, RIS, and enterprise imaging platforms. You will set strategy, standards, and oversee secure, scalable, highly available systems across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid deployments.

You will hire and develop database engineers, partner with software, DevOps, and product leadership, drive migrations and modernization, and ensure HIPAA

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in database architecture, design, and administration.
• 2+ years directly managing or leading database engineers or architects.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases in large-scale, high-availability environments.
• Proven HIPAA compliance experience and healthcare data protection.
• Experience with cloud database platforms and migrations (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• PACS/RIS/VNA experience with DICOM/HL7/FHIR knowledge.
• Terraform/CloudFormation and CI/CD for database deployments; relevant certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, and develop a team of database engineers and architects; set clear performance goals.
• Own the database architecture strategy and standards for on-premises, cloud, and hybrid deployments.
• Drive operational excellence and reliability for all production databases; plan capacity, backups, DR, and BC/DR.
• Establish and enforce HIPAA compliance and data-security protocols across systems (DICOM/HL7/FHIR).
• Partner with engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, and product leadership to align strategy and lead migrations.
