Job summary

Intelerad is seeking a Database Architect to design, implement, and optimize the database architecture powering its medical imaging solutions. You will build scalable, secure systems for PACS, RIS, and enterprise imaging platforms used by providers globally.

The role requires deep expertise in relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and performance optimization, with a focus on high availability, security, and regulatory compliance across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in database architecture, design, and administration in large-scale environments.
• Expertise in relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Strong data modeling, normalization, and logical/physical modeling skills.
• Proficiency in database performance optimization: query tuning, indexing, capacity planning.
• Extensive experience with cloud databases on AWS/Azure/GCP and migrations
• Deep understanding of healthcare data protection, HIPAA, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-wide database architectures to support imaging platforms across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Develop data models, schemas, and documentation aligned with healthcare standards (DICOM, HL7, FHIR).
• Establish and enforce database standards, security, and compliance with backup, DR, and BC plans.
• Lead performance optimization initiatives and capacity planning to maintain sub-second response times for clinical workflows.
• Collaborate with software engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams on migrations, upgrades, and modernization.
