Job summary

Reddit, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead ads fraud detection within Safety. You will partner with Ads Product, Engineering, Machine Learning, Operations, Policy, Legal, and fellow Safety data scientists to build scalable signals, models, and enforcement pipelines.

This is a high-impact role offering ownership as an early leader in a greenfield space, with opportunities to shape strategy and cross-functional roadmaps while mentoring others.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or MS in a quantitative field; MS with 4+ years DS experience, or PhD with 2+ years.
• Experience building production detection and automated enforcement pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of fraud/abuse detection methods and evaluation.
• Experience partnering with Product and Engineering to deploy systems.
• Experience applying AI/LLMs to DS workflows.
• Fluency in Python and SQL; ability to work across complex data systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead measurement and detection strategy for ads fraud with taxonomy and metrics.
• Analyze large datasets to uncover fraud patterns and root causes.
• Design scalable detection pipelines with Engineering and ML.
• Own full detection lifecycle from backtesting to retirement.
• Build ML and GenAI-enabled models to improve detection and enforcement.
• Balance risk and user experience when setting thresholds.
• Collaborate with Ads and Safety to shape roadmaps and governance.
• Translate analyses into actionable narratives and mentor others.
