Job summary

Reddit is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead ads fraud detection and scaled enforcement within Safety. You will partner with Ads Product, Engineering, ML, Operations, Policy and Legal to identify emerging fraud signals and translate investigations into durable rules and enforcement pipelines.

Own the full detection lifecycle—from backtesting to online evaluation—and build ML and GenAI-enabled models that improve fraud detection, investigator efficiency, and enforcement quality.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or MS in statistics, CS, applied math or related field with industry data science experience.
• Proven production experience building detection and enforcement pipelines with data streams.
• Experience applying AI/LLMs to data science workflows and investigations.
• Strong statistical, modeling, and evaluation skills with drift and calibration handling.

Responsibilities

• Lead the measurement and detection strategy for ads fraud with robust taxonomies and metrics.
• Analyze large datasets and networks to uncover emerging fraud patterns and root causes.
• Design and develop scalable detection/enforcement pipelines with feature generation and rules.
• Own the full detection lifecycle: backtesting, online/offline evaluation, and deployment.
• Build ML and GenAI-enabled models to improve detection and investigator efficiency.
• Collaborate across Ads, Safety, and Product to align roadmaps and governance.
