Job summary

SentiLink is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to own the data infrastructure powering our fraud-detection products. You will work with product, engineering, and data science teams to build and enhance scalable data platforms that support real-time APIs and large-scale datasets.

The role is remote and US-based, with requirements including 5+ years in software/data engineering, Python or Go, and cloud experience. Competitive compensation and equity offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering or related field.
• Proficient in Python or Golang and related technologies.
• Expertise in building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines at scale leveraging distributed data processing technologies like Spark, Hadoop, Kafka or similar technologies.
• Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure or GCP.
• Deep understanding of different database technologies including Postgres, NoSQL (OpenSearch, vector DB), and columnar stores; experience with writing efficient queries.
• Experience building enterprise-grade, scalable containerized data services on Kubernetes.
• Working knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code and DevOps practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work independently.
• Experience working in a Scrum/Agile development environment.
• Bonus: Spark/EMR, streaming apps, AWS tech like EKS, SQS/SNS, EMR, Redshift, S3; fintech startup experience.

Responsibilities

• Build, expand, and optimize data infrastructure to create the most accurate dataset of identities and their relationships.
• Develop and operate secure, scalable, and reliable ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Design and maintain a data observability framework to ensure data quality and freshness.
• Collaborate with product teams (squads) supporting data platform needs.
• Participate in call rotation for production issues with engineering.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Drive innovation via hackathons and proofs of concept.
• Develop subject matter expertise in identity fraud domains.
